OUR PRESCHOOL STAFF
We are very proud of our highly qualified and experienced staff at Theydon Bois Preschool. All staff receive regular training in early years childcare and the most effective ways to support children's learning and development including training in first aid, safeguarding, food and hygiene and most recently up to date training on infection control and COVID-19.
All staff are encouraged to carry out and attend a wide range of training to update and continue their professional development and knowledge as this ensures that children will receive the very best and most up to date care and education.

KEYPERSON SYSTEM
Each child is assigned a particular staff member who takes a special interest in them. We believe that children do best when parents/carers and the Preschool work closely together. It is important that young children are made to feel safe and secure in their surroundings. This is aided by having a 'key person' who gets to know you and your child well. By sharing information about your child's need's and strength's, you contribute to the ability of Preschool staff to support, encourage and inspire your child's first enduring educator.
At the Preschool we use two documents to help us record your child's unique development. The first document, called Observation Notes, holds all the written observations of significant things we see your child doing or things that they say. These things help us understand what your child can do and show us what they are interested in. The second document, called My Learning Journey, records your child's significant steps using photos. You can add your own pictures to show achievements at home. All information we receive is confidential and will be used to enable us to meet the children's individual needs. You will have an opportunity to discuss your child's progress and review these documents every term.

THE COMMITTEE
The Committee plays a huge part in the survival and running of the Preschool, working very closely with the Managers and staff. Some of the jobs entail organising the session allocations, providing invoices and claiming funding from the council, organising fund raising events to allow for new equipment and keep the Preschool in a satisfactory financial position.
We ALWAYS need new members and all parents are welcome so come along to one of our meetings to see what's involved. We meet once per half term, in the evening. There is always space for new members. As well as helping to maintain our excellent Preschool, joining the committee is a great way to meet new people and make friends.
If you are interested in a role on the committee, big or small, it would be great to have you on board!
